Cruise The World With Us 2026

Happy St Patrick’s Day

Tuesday – March 17, 2026 – at sea to Keelung

Today we celebrated St Patrick’s Day with a performance by a dance troupe from Ireland. The featured photo is from that performance.

With the hostilities in the area of Iran we have been keeping an eye out for oil tankers on the ocean. I thought we saw a couple but one turned out to be a bulk transport ship and the other was a liquid natural gas ship. Perhaps we will see the tankers Australia is desperately looking for (they didn’t plan for an interruption of oil and have been converting to “clean” energy so don’t have anything to fall back on). I think this will be a big issue during the next national election in Australia.

Today’s World Cruise game was to construct recognizable structures from cities around the world. The first was to make a Colosseum (Rome) using towels and clear tape. There is a photo in today’s gallery for that one from Air. Our attempt looked more like a basket to me. Another was the Burj Khalifa building in Dubai. Another team tried to tape the towel to the ceiling in the Tiger Lounge (photo in gallery) but the tape didn’t hold to the ceiling. Air didn’t win today.

Kelsey’s cabin steward from her room on deck 8 last year now works on deck 12. She doesn’t know his full first name but it begins with the letter “D” – so she calls him “D”. He sees her frequently as we walk on deck 12 past the cabins he services. For St. Patrick’s Day he made a green dog using towels and rags. There is a photo in the gallery of that gift.

Kelsey likes to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and usually does so by wearing her “Kiss Me I’m Iowish” t-shirt. She did so this year and posed by the decoration in our restaurant.

The entertainment this year (as it was last year) was a dance troupe from Ireland. It was a good show and they certainly have more energy in their legs than I have in mine! Kelsey was able to get a photo with all the members who performed.
