Happy Easter

Easter Sunday – April 20, 2025

You might have been expecting a photo of a ham or a Cadbury bunny with chocolate Easter eggs. Well, what you get is a made-from-scratch Easter bunny from the Fire team of World Cruise Games.

Another day at sea – another day with not as much to report. As we left the restaurant after breakfast we noticed a display in the atrium on deck 5. There are a few photos showing the display and components. One thing I didn’t understand was the inclusion of milk chocolate chickens (hens). I thought they would have had some chocolate bunnies. I looked online and found that the chocolate hen is associated with Easter – so guess that explains it. In Iowa we don’t have that association (that I am aware of).

Today’s World Cruise game was to use vegetables and fruit to construct a bunny. Each team had 20 minutes to come up with their bunny then they would be judged by Luigi. Each team carefully guarded their design by positioning members around the table so competing members could not see what was being done. I was able to get a few video clips during construction. Once the time was up the 4 tables were moved to the central stage and Luigi began the judging process. The winner was Fire and I don’t dispute his choice – they did a good job. You’ll find photos of each of the 4 and a closer/larger image of the winning entry (also today’s featured image).

Today was the final presentation by the Musica in Maschera group – a Reader’s Digest version of the opera La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi. There is a photo with an explanation of what is happening in each of the 3 acts. The singing is Italian (I believe) so I didn’t follow what was being said. We need one of the overhead signs they have in the Sydney Opera House that provide a translation so the audience can follow along. However, on this cruise, they would need signs for English, Spanish, German, French and Chinese so the signs might not be practical.

You can find today’s video and photos here.
