At Sea Again

Saturday – February 8, 2025

Remember I said this might be the title of several posts? Well, here it is again. Didn’t have anything of note happen today so pulled up that already-used title once more. Didn’t even know what featured image to use so I picked one from the past. I promise you, it will get more interesting tomorrow and Monday.

Not having time to get this post finished before we head out today for our excursion. Have 4 days at sea coming up as we head to Easter Island so I’ll get it done in the next day or so.

Saturday was pretty so-so. The sunrise was not spectacular (actually there wasn’t much to it due to the direction of the ship.

Today’s World Cruise game was follow my hook. The hook was a candy cane. There were 5 wine bottles labeled 1-5 spaced apart on a table. 2 people held a rope stretching beyond both ends of the table. A candy cane was placed on one end, held high and the cane was to slide down the rope to the approximate distance of the bottle labeled “1”. Then the team captains would guide the two people to move the candy cane left, right, forward, backward to position the tip of the cane above the opening of the bottle. When the cane’s tip was directly over the bottle they would tell the 2 people to lower the rope so the cane would go into the bottle. We had 5 minutes to see how many canes we could put in the bottles in the proper order – 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. Air didn’t win – I think we had 3 canes. The winner had 6.

In mid-afternoon the classical group presented some Mozart music for us. Kelsey was kind enough to take some stills and video to include with today’s offerings.

I included a couple photos of dinner selections. The pepper steak was good but I wish it had been fish. Dessert was interesting with the Grand Marnier in the sauce rather than the soufflé.

The sea was more choppy this evening than in the morning and the sky was virtually cloudless. So my sunset does show the sun setting, but nothing spectacular.

Following dinner the evening show was the same musician we saw a few days ago – Andy Bunger. This time he had visible musicians playing with him. I don’t know how he has the energy he displays when he plays the vibraphone.

Tomorrow will be our first day in Valparaiso, Chile. We are looking forward to the excursions we have planned and should have plenty of video and photos from Sunday and Monday.

Here are the video and photos from today.
