At Sea Again

Thursday – February 13, 2025

Once again we are at sea. This is the third of four days we will be “stranded” on the ship as we sail to Easter Island (arrive Saturday). With a taste of the moai in Vina Del Mar we are anxious to see more.

The World Cruise game today was dodgeball – but with slightly different rules (I don’t know the exact rules because Jan and Kelsey watched while I was working elsewhere on posting stuff). Air was fourth of four so not doing so well.

After World Cruise games we returned to our cabin to find an envelope from the woman who runs Future Cruise bookings. She found rooms for us on the 2026 World Cruise but they were both partial ocean view. We were looking for a balcony cabin and an interior cabin. She said that was all that was available from any of the four embarkation ports (Rome, Genoa, Marseille and Barcelona). We told her that if that was all she could offer we would not be interested. She said that there was some promotion that expires at midnight and some of those who said they would go on this cruise might back out. She promised to check after midnight and let us know what she found. We hope she finds what we would like.

In the afternoon there was another jazz with photos session (PAzz). Over 1,000 photos were submitted by the passengers – 100 were selected – I had 3 of those 100 including the first photo shown. I put together a clipped video showing the 3 they chose. This PAzz covered our time in Chile. Next PAzz will be for Easter Island and photos of MSC Magnifica. So far the photo staff has selected 11 of my photos to show with 389 from other passengers.

There are a few photos of selections from dinner. The two desserts shown were very good. Jan and I agree that these cooks do dessert well.

Following dinner Kelsey stopped to check the latest jigsaw puzzle on deck 7. It was nearly complete so she wants to check it again after the evening show. Tonight’s show “Visual Comedy – Daniel Mime” didn’t sound interesting to me but both Kelsey and Jan liked it. They took video and photos and those are included in today’s media. On the way back to our cabin after the show they stopped to check the jigsaw puzzle – it was now complete.

I finished the day’s media with a time-lapse of the sunset.

For Valentine’s Day the captain is planning a vow renewal ceremony at 8:00 pm for any couples who are interested. I’m sure there will be plenty of red and white throughout the ship also. Kelsey is excited about the chocolate buffet that will be offered at 10:30 pm. That’s too late for me and sweets.

You will find video and photos from today here.
