Saturday was a fairly uneventful day. The photo page begins with sunrise – OK but not spectacular. As Jan and I had breakfast in the dining room I saw a ship passing – the first I had seen since we left Mindelo on Tuesday. Nothing special about the ship – just the fact that we saw one in the Atlantic Ocean.
Later in the morning another of the World Cruise games was held. This time each team was to bring as many different shampoos to our get together as possible. Considering the ship provides shampoo for you, it seemed to us that there wouldn’t be many other varieties. As it turns out we were wrong. Air and Water tied for the most types. Someone from Water even brought the soap dispenser from their shower and it counted toward their total. Don’t know at this point what the next game will be but it won’t happen until Monday as we sail to Rio de Janeiro.
We lounged for a while near the enclosed pool on deck 13. While there a staff photographer took photos of our group so I took one of her.
Saturday afternoon was beautiful. The sea and sky colors of blue were very complimentary so I took a photo of them. Temp was in the middle 80’s and, as we were at sea, there was a gentle breeze.
In mid-afternoon we went to the theatre to listen to jazz and look at passenger-submitted photos. They said that 1,000 photos were uploaded and they use 10% of them as a backdrop for the music. I was fortunate to have 2 photos displayed – one taken in Casablanca and the other in Mindelo.
Dinner was good – you’ll find several photos of what we ate. Can’t say I have had anything I would call bad at any of the meals. There are some things I probably wouldn’t order again but I found something I would definitely order again – baklava!
This evening’s entertainment was a group we saw earlier in the voyage – Vocal Extr3me – 3 men (2 from Britain and one from New York). I uploaded clips for many of the songs they sang. They will be getting off in Salvador so I wonder what new act will come on board to replace them.
