Cruise The World With Us 2026

Crossing The Equator

Sunday – February 15, 2026 – at sea to Pago Pago day 4

Today’s featured photo is a screen grab from my phone which shows we are now South of the equator by almost 3 degrees. It is apparently a tradition to have a line crossing ceremony. This year’s ceremony was primarily dancing and music as illustrated with the photos in the gallery. Last year passengers lined the edges of the main pool as staff coated their heads with every conceivable spreadable substance they could find in the kitchen – mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, salsa, butter etc. 2025 was quite a mess. The party began at 11:15 am but we actually crossed the equator much earlier – probably around 2:00-3:00 am.

No World Cruise game today as deck 13 was being used for the party.

The sunset in the evening was nice, so I included a photo in the gallery.

The show this evening was a combination of singing, dancing and acrobatics. You’ll see several photos from the show titled “Starlight”. I thought the most interesting part of the show was when 2 jugglers exchanged clothing as they juggled 3 clubs. Piece by piece they removed clothing and “juggled” the pieces to the other person. Then they put clothing back on so that the man who was wearing red at the beginning was wearing black at the end (and vice versa for the other juggler).

There was one other show (for which I wasn’t able to get photos) later in the night. The firemen on board are all from Samoa. They put on a dance show of Samoan traditional dances. I couldn’t get photos because the 13th and 14th decks were so crowded I wasn’t able to see the performance. When we arrive in American Samoa on Tuesday all these firemen (including 2 women) will be disembarking and replacements will be coming aboard.

Here are the photos from today.

P.S. It appears we left Hilo, Hawaii too soon. Kilauea volcano erupted today with lava fountains in the same caldera we had viewed last Wednesday. Oh well – maybe next trip to the Big Island!
