Firefighters

Sunday – April 6, 2025

And you probably thought that the MSC Magnifica’s firefighters were just a bunch of pretty boys! They are much more. They are from Samoa and demonstrated Samoan dancing for the ship tonight. Today’s featured photo is a snapshot of them performing on deck 13.

Thanks again to Jan and Kelsey for filming the World Cruise game and the shows today.

Another day at sea (on the way to Seychelles) and not lots to do. Today’s World Cruise game was to use 1 hand to stack styrofoam cups set on a table while facing each cup. You couldn’t just reach across the table – you had to move around the table, face the cup then stack it on others. Each heat had all 4 teams and whoever won the heat got a point. At the end the team with the most points won. Of course Air did not win but we did participate.

This evening’s show was Patrick McCarthy – Voices of the World. This was Patrick’s second show on the cruise. We didn’t see the first one because it was done while we were off exploring Australia. Patrick was OK per Jan and Kelsey but not close to the original crooners (Frank Sinatra and Freddie Mercury were a couple whose songs he sang).

Following the theatre show the ship’s firefighters gave their show on deck 13 by the main pool area. Kelsey’s seat wasn’t optimum so she has some nice video of a fake palm tree in many of the shots. Assuming we get to go on the 2026 World Cruise we will be stopping in Samoa and should see more of this type of dancing. It was nice of the firefighters to display their talent for all the passengers and the passengers showed their appreciation.
