Saturday – February 7, 2026 – at sea to Hilo day 1
Today’s featured photo is of a waiter we have grown to know and love – Gustavo. He always has a smile for us and everyone he serves. We banter and tell each other about our countries – he is from Southern Brazil. I wore a shirt from Argentina one day and he said he was sad to see me with it – there is a rivalry between Brazil and Argentina! When we arrive for breakfast, Gustavo has hot milk and a chocolate pack ready for us. We are glad to have made his acquaintance and look forward to seeing him for the remainder of this cruise.
Today the World Cruise game was to assemble LEGO blocks 8-high to create dominoes. Then the dominoes were to be placed in a line so pushing the first one would topple all of them. The object was to have the longest unbroken chain after pushing the first domino. Kelsey worked to assemble the 8-high dominoes while Jan and I attended an information meeting about excursions. When we arrived on deck 13, Air had already finished their assembly and had a string of 166 dominoes. Air placed second in today’s contest – the winner had 182.
The evening show in the theater was titled “Le Ciel De Paris”. Songs were based on Paris or events that happen/happened in Paris. The finale was the Can-Can.
