Cruise The World With Us 2026

If You Ask

Sunday – May 3, 2026 – at sea to Mindelo day 3

The featured photo today is of a bowl of fresh-made guacamole. What does that have to do with the title of this post? Well, as you may remember from yesterday, we received a bottle of prosecco late yesterday after talking with a head waiter about the prawns served at dinner. What you didn’t know is that we still have 2 bottles of MOET champagne and a bottle of Passion Fruit rum in our cabin – and we are not heavy or frequent drinkers! We thought a good way to reduce the alcohol in our cabin would be to invite those we share a table with at breakfast to come and share the wealth (so to speak). Our friends responded positively and said they could bring some Doritos (chips). They wondered if we might have guacamole with the chips. I asked one of our favorite head waiters if that was possible – for the kitchen to prepare guacamole. She said it would be up to the evening head waiter but she would pass along the request. As we ate our evening meal, a head waiter stopped at our table and said “I understand you would like guacamole this evening.”. We explained what we asked for at breakfast and he said he would be back. Later during the meal he brought us a bowl with fresh guacamole. I noticed from his nametag that he was the same person who sent the card with the bottle of prosecco and explained that he was the reason we were asking for this dip – and thanked him for arranging to get it for us. The moral of this story – if you ask you may receive.

Today’s World Cruise game was for 4 people, spaced across the deck, to move a ball (using pickleball paddles) into a bucket on the other side of the deck. During the first round none of the teams were able to move a ball across the deck. During the second round Water scored a point by putting their 4 best hitters up – they won today’s game.

I forgot to take any photos when our breakfast friends came to our cabin in the evening. We did finish 2 bottled of bubbly and will set up another party to empty the remaining bottles before we reach Italy.

Later in the evening (10:30) there was a Sweet Bites Buffet on deck 13. Kelsey was our designated attendee and took a couple pictures that you’ll find in the gallery.

Here is today’s gallery.
