Cruise The World With Us 2026

Krispy Kreme

Wednesday – March 25, 2026 – at sea to Nagasaki

Most of you are familiar with Krispy Kreme doughnuts. When we have breakfast in the dining room on the ship I usually ask for Krispy Kreme when the bread person stops at our table. I really like those doughnuts – especially with a cold glass of milk. They nearly melt in your mouth and certainly raise your blood sugar level higher than it should be! When we were in Tokyo near the Godzilla replica, we spied a Krispy Kreme store. I bought a dozen to share with the breakfast staff and for us to eat in our cabin. I forgot to include that with the posts about Tokyo and thought I should make a note of it here. Those to whom we gave a doughnut and were not familiar with Krispy Kreme are now converts (I wish bringing people to Christianity was this easy). We found out that the mother of one of the head waiters at breakfast used to work at a Krispy Kreme store in Mexico. She and the other employees were able to take home doughnuts that were not perfect in shape. So each day when her mom would pick her up from school, the head waiter would be greeted by a box from Krispy Kreme. And I thought living in Iowa was heaven!

Today it rained so World Cruise games was cancelled – there is a photo showing deck 13 where the games are held. Kelsey and Jan went to the next Master Chef at Sea session which was held in the theater. This time the 6 finalists were given a dish to prepare which would be judged by some of the chefs on board. 3 of the 6 finalists would be eliminated but the audience could vote to keep 1 of the 3 who were slated to be dropped. That would leave 4 contestants to compete in the final session (which we will miss because we will be traveling in China). Midori, David, Brian and Adele were the 4 who will be competing in the final. That is all to report for today. Tomorrow we dock at Nagasaki and take an excursion to an area with 99 islands.
