Friday – May 2, 2025
This is the last of our days at sea. Tomorrow we visit Palermo on the Island of Sicily, Sunday we dock at Civitavecchia (for Rome) and Monday we disembark MSC Magnifica in Genoa. Today’s featured image shows our position in the Mediterranean off the coast of Algeria.
I included one last recording of the captain’s daily at sea briefings to show how many nautical miles we have traveled on this journey – over 34,000 so far with 800 to go. WOW – it seems like just yesterday we boarded in Marseilles.
Sunday Karen, Jeff, Leo and Mike will be disembarking which will leave only Kelly to sit with us for our evening meal. I doubt we will see any of these people in the future but we have enjoyed knowing them for the last 4 months. There are a couple photos of food from dinner – Jan’s starter and her dessert.
The entertainment this evening began with a short video of the last month of the trip – from Fremantle, Australia to the at sea time before today. There will be a video covering all 4 months on Sunday but I suspect we will miss that as we will be packing to leave the ship on Monday.
The main production troop put on a show titled “Treasure Island” which included performers from other groups and acrobats. Following the show Kelsey was able to get her photo with the cruise director – Sonya – and the 4 singers from the main production troop.
