Saturday – March 14, 2026 – at sea to Manila day 5
Today’s featured photo shows the collection of shampoos brought by Air for today’s World Cruise game. The team with the largest number of shampoos (only shampoo – not shampoo/conditioner or shampoo/body wash) from different brands (couldn’t use more than 1 type from each manufacturer (even Head & Shoulders must have 50 varieties). Air came in second behind Earth. We had 36 – Earth had 41. Jan said next cruise she is going to bring all those little bottles you get from hotels (at least those that still do that) because they don’t have a brand name. She also plans to visit a Target and get as many travel size bottles as possible. We WILL NOT LOSE NEXT CRUISE!
Today started strange. When we went to breakfast, we were informed that all our usual tablemates had left. We found that during the night our phones had set the time back an hour – so we were actually an hour late coming to breakfast. To top that off, we didn’t get to sit where we normally sit, and we were not waited on by the same wait staff. My hot chocolate had some strange substance in the bottom (photo in the gallery). Once I noticed that I stopped drinking it.
Already gave you the result of the World Cruise game. We were disappointed because we had collected shampoos from our cabin steward and he had brought some from his friends. We really thought we would win. Many of the bottles our group had were disqualified because they were not labeled as shampoo only – they said shampoo/conditioner or shampoo/body wash. Live and learn!
I included a couple screengrabs to show our locations as we sail to Manila. Late in the afternoon I spotted a ship far away and found it was an inter-island ferry operated by a company named 2GO. If you are in the Philippines, this looks like it might be a good way to get around the over 7,000 islands that comprise the Philippines.
The theme in the restaurant tonight was Italian – not sure why but that meant there was plenty of Italian food to choose from. There is a photo of Kelsey with the display at the entrance to the restaurant.
The in-house production company and 3 acrobats put on a show titled “Graffiti” this evening. Have no clue what the title had to do with the show. Hit songs from the past 30 years were featured along with dancing and acrobatics.
There was a crepes night buffet late in the evening. Kelsey went – we didn’t. She was hoping they would serve more Nutella on the crepes.
Here are today’s photos.
