Cruise The World With Us 2026

Tropical Buffet

Tuesday – January 27, 2026 – at sea to Puerto Vallarta day 1

Today’s featured photo is one taken by Kelsey of the buffet set on deck 13 following the Latin Party. The buffet featured amazing creations using fruit (as you can see from this photo).

Today is the first of 3 days we will be at sea on our way to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Since we are not stopping at Guatemala, we will have a bit more time at both the stops in Mexico – Puerto Vallarta on Friday and Cabo San Lucas on Saturday.

The World Cruise game today was not easy. Using tennis racquet, we were to move a tennis ball between 4 team members with the 4th member to direct the ball into a 5-gallon bucket. The team leaders were unable to make a bucket when they ran the demo for us. Jan and I were one of the 4-person Air groups – Jan was player 1 and I was player 2. You can see photos of each of us hitting the ball to the next person in the chain. Each team had 5 minutes for all of their 4-person player groups to score buckets. Air didn’t make any buckets. I believe the winning team (Earth) was able to get 1 bucket.

Following the game, we had some lunch and returned to our cabin for a while. Looking out our balcony door I saw birds flying along the side of the ship. I don’t know what type of birds they are but do know that we were at least 20 miles from land. Not sure why the birds made the trip to visit MSC Magnifica.

At 4:00 pm we went to the theater to participate in a get-together for Diamond and Blue Diamond Voyagers Club members. Drinks were distributed and a couple short videos were played to entice the attendees to book future cruises. Following the videos 2 dancers gave a performance, and a singer serenaded us with 2 songs. The presentation for the 2028 World Cruise interested us so we set an appointment to meet with the Future Cruise rep at 9:30 pm on Wednesday.

The entertainment this evening was a ventriloquist named Serge Massot. His act had three sections – 1st was with a dummy (not as interesting because most of the talking was not in English), 2nd was with the dummy and performing a magic trick. The 3rd section involved 3 “volunteers” from the audience – a woman and 2 men. We knew the woman from meals we had shared with she and her husband. This section was funny – he had each person move their mouths but with no sound. He provided the sound for each (with a difference between each) in answer to questions he asked. The audience seemed to like this portion of the performance as well since there were long-lasting applause.

Jan and I returned to our cabin after the show – Kelsey chose to go to the Latin Party and Tropical Buffet on deck 13. She brought back some of the fruit and photo from the buffet.
