Use Your Head

Saturday – April 5, 2025

Thanks to Kelsey for taking the video and photos today. Since I was in isolation I couldn’t leave the room for anything in today’s media.

The World Cruise game today was to move a ball along a path marked on the deck and deposit the ball in a bucket. The method used to move the ball was for 2 people to hold the ball between their foreheads with their hands held behind their backs. If your hands became unclasped your run was disqualified. At the end of the marked path the ball had to drop into a bucket. If the ball missed the bucket – no point. The winner was the team with the highest number of successful ball drops in the bucket. Guess what – AIR won this game!!

Since we were at sea today on our way to Seychelles the number of activities put on video or photos was limited. The next activity recorded after World Cruise game was dinner. Jeff had been teasing Kelsey about having Tim Tam cookies given to her during our Australia expedition. So we gave up a package of cookies for her to give him at dinner. He was surprised and happy as you can see from the photos in today’s media. There are also a few photos of selections from today’s evening meal.

Following dinner was a theatre presentation called “Animalia” by the main stage group. Lots of singing, dancing and acrobatics.

While we were touring Australia the World Cruise games teams were making short (4 minute 30 second) silent movies. The movies were shown to a group of judges and this evening awards were presented for acting in those movies and for the best movie. Air won the award for best actress AND the award for best movie! This counts toward our point total for the cruise so both were welcome wins. In the media you can find copies of the 4 movies. As a surprise, after showing 2 of the 4 movies there was also a movie with child actors from the young voyagers (pre school and early grade school).

On a personal note, Saturday my breakfast was brought to the room. Don’t remember if I had lunch or if Jan went out. In the afternoon we figured out how to use the digital thermometer we brought with us and my temp had dropped to 99.3. When the medical office called for a status report I gave them the temp and they said they would call back with instructions. When they did call it was good news – I was off isolation – but it was too late for me to get a meal delivered or to make the first seating (our normal dinner time). Jan was elated that the mask was no longer needed (we kept the extras as souvenirs). Last night was my second night of uninterrupted horizontal sleep. It felt great!
